Deep Tissue Massage

HOW: Combining tools and techniques to address areas of dysfunction. Stretching, breathwork, consistency, and education are the corner-stones of this approach. Goal-setting and series of appointments encouraged for best results. 

WHY: Areas of chronic pain and injury require consistent and intentional treatment. Just as many go through physical therapy, the body needs to reset patterns within the musculature and the nervous system.

Shiatsu Bodywork

HOW: Japanese bodywork based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Pressure points along the meridians, rivers of energy, are worked with stretching or pressure. Wear loose, comfy clothing.  A low table allows for the application of pressure to be directly above the areas being worked. 

WHY: Potential for emotional connection and release. Improves flexibility. Great for those who have been recently injured or had surgery as there’s no need to remove any clothing.

Craniosacral Therapy

HOW: Through specific holds and placement throughout the body, connective tissue is accessed through a gentle unwinding. With touch at the weight of a nickel, the flows of the craniosacral fluid are balanced. The gentle holds allow for the cranium to shift slightly and create more space for the sinuses of the brain.

WHY: Deep listening encourages deep relaxation and meditative states. Safely applied for headaches, migraines, traumatic brain injuries, and whiplash. 

Hot Stone Massage

HOW: Natural basalt stones from Lake Superior heated to 130 degrees melt away stress and discomfort. 

WHY: Struggling to relax in the winter cold? Respond best to heat? Always feel cold? Hot stones offer smooth, moderate pressure combined with incredible heat that melts the connective tissue, increases circulation, and reduces pain.

Pranassage

HOW: A fusion of assisted yoga and thai massage, this modality deeply grounds your mind into your body. Through supportive, passive stretches combined with broad pressure, feel your body release layers of tension as your breath elevates the mind and spirit

WHY: If you have a hard time stretching, or you just need some help really accessing tight areas. If you are ticklish with specific pressure points, the broad application of techniques feels more relaxing.

Relaxation Massage

HOW: Smooth, flowing strokes repeated for maximum effect. Prenatal and post-natal massage also available and safe at all stages of pregnancy!

WHY: Breathe into the moment, release judgement of problem areas and allow for general wellbeing to dissolve stress and over-thinking. 

Cupping

HOW:  Cupping uses suction to lift the skin, stretching fascia and muscle as gently or intensely as desired. Sliding cupping generates blood and lymph flow, creating minor pinkness to the skin lasting around an hour. Static cupping leaves several cups in place for 5-15 minutes, leaving circular marks that look like bruises, yet (usually) do not hurt with pressure. 

WHY: Needing more stretch, or a different kind of release? Cupping can be a great way to receive care without extra pressure. 

Guasha

HOW: Through the use of a flat edged tool, often made of stone or metal, the skin is scraped at a 45 degree angle. It can be used anywhere on the body, including the face. Especially suited for acutely painful areas.

WHY: Breaks up scar tissue, separates adhered connective tissue from the muscles and tendons, flushes out inflammation, and allows for greater range of motion and ease of stretching. 

Aromatherapy

HOW: Pick a purposeful blend, or a single note, of the highest quality organic essential oils and melt into the full sensory experience as the aroma is diffused into the room and massaged onto your skin.

WHY: Essential oil blend infused bodywork completes the benefits to nourish the skin, muscles, and joints. Sensory bliss is a bonus. 

Energy Work

HOW: Tuning into the aura and chakras, and flows of the body’s energetic blueprint, various energy healing techniques can be used to address the deeper causes of chronic pain and emotional distress.

WHY: Come into meditative presence and allow for the innate wisdom of your body to heal you through connection and intention. The body activates chemicals and hormones in response to thoughts and emotions, and they often go unexamined. Let’s find the imbalances and give you tools to reset.

Flower Essence Therapy

HOW: Vibrational flower essences catalyze emotional states, situational troubles, and may also be applied topically with creams or sprays.

WHY: Catalyzing stuck emotions, accompaniment through situational distress, spiritual guidance, when “nothing else seems to work.” Personalized formulas available for in-session treatments and at home .
