Rae Frost LMT and Shiatsu Practitioner

I wake up every day with a mission to honor and love myself so that I may serve others to empower their own lives. This is my “why” for spending years gaining knowledge and experience in regards to the body.

I utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology, combined with the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine, body psychology, and intuition within my bodywork sessions. I enhance all of the knowledge and experience I have gained over 11 years of practice by the large toolbox of techniques I earned as a student of CenterPoint Shiatsu and Massage Therapy School and Clinic.

My training includes Shiatsu, rehabilitative, Trigger Point, sports, relaxation, hot stone, Craniosacral, prenatal massage, flower essence therapy, and energy work. All of these therapies are most effective as an ongoing work. While in an hour or two we can address major pain issues and create space for more ease of movement, the habits and restrictions in your body were not created in an hour. They were created over days, months, years, perhaps even your whole life. Just as someone seeking psychotherapy will not simply go to one session and consider themselves cured, or even go to a doctor one time and find that once they get medicine that everything is better forever.

The amazing bodies and spirits granted to humans have the capacity for change, yet it requires the dedication and willingness to do so. We aim to convince not only the muscles and the nervous system, but also the mind to release outdated beliefs about what your body is capable of. Our brains tend toward the negative, because looking out for bad things helped us survive danger in the wild. Now the world has evolved, and we must get these magical thousands of years old vessels to agree.

Each person’s individual story shapes the frame and groundwork of their physical and emotional being. We live out both the mundane and the extraordinary in our daily lives, and all of these experiences cause reactions within the complex physical and energetic structures of the body. I aim to empower my clients by freeing up their range of motion and ability to move and be without so much discomfort and pain. I also offer a range of self-care strategies to empower their journeys when they’re not on my table.

The people of the world are carrying around suffering, limiting beliefs, emotional pain, traumas, injuries, and poor habits that their bodies try nobly to counteract and balance. I want to help their physical and emotional bodies feel validated, so their conscious minds can see beyond the pain and into the root of the problem.

I do what I do because I am in awe of the healing arts that have expanded and evolved over the centuries.  I followed my interests in alternative healing, yoga, and spiritual exploration. Now I aspire to empower my clients by inviting them to explore the messages carried within their pain.

My interest in energy work started me on this path of healing and self-discovery nearly 11 years ago.  It’s been a wonderful ride full of traps and treasures. I’m honored to join my clients in their efforts to become more embodied and at peace!

Rae lives in south Minneapolis, MN with her husband and two cats.
